First order of Jeffree Star Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks
I finally ordered Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks because of the recent color they launched in Mannequin. I was always hesitant to buy them before because testing them at the Morphe store in Burbank, CA they seemed to not be completely transfer-proof. Also I was not a fan of the packaging, just reminded me of a kid’s toy. Well finally I ordered a couple colors in Mannequin (nude) and Weirdo (black) from beautylish.com Instead of buying from Jeffree’s site because weirdo was still out of stock and shipping is $6. Beautylish offers free express shipping for spending $35, so I ordered it through there. It was my first order and they shipped super fast! I got my package within 3 days (including the weekend) The packaging was nicely wrapped with tattoo pattern tissue paper, then wrapped in brown paper with a string bow, and included a thank you card.
It was a great experience with Beautylish because this month 2 1/2 online orders I made with either colourpop or ipsy all had issues with shipping the wrong item or completely different order. Beautylish was on top of their game!.
On to the reviews of Jeffree Stars Velour Liquid Lipsticks.
Jeffree Star Weirdo:
- Made in USA – Vegan/Cruelty Free
- Size: 0.19 oz/5.6
- Long Lasting: Pretty long Lasting but did not try to eat in it..scared of looking like a creepy monster afterwards
- Non-Drying: Medium Dryness, feels a little tacky
- Non-Peeling: Doesn’t make my lips peely or flaky
- Color Choices: Fun colors to choose from. White, Green, Black, Blue, and Teal.
- Staining: Nope
- Scent: No real scent
- Applicator: The best applicator and none like it! It’s like a little shoe w/ a heel the curveture grabs enough product and goes on my lips nicely. I love it!
- Consistency: Liquidy, not streaky but had to apply 2 coats. Per Jeffree’s youtube videos he shakes the bottle first.
- Recent Color Releases: Rose Matter, Gemini, Mannequin, and Scorpio

- Texture: Mousey. Need layers to get an even coat on. Would mix with other colors or use as lip highlight.

Fun Grapeswatch of Colourpop liquid lipsticks
I decided to swatch up some colors from Colourpop that look purple-ish on me, of course except Dr. M.
Colourpop Bedazzled Ultra Matte Lip: is a deep plum purple. It dries fairly quickly.
Colourpop So Wavy Ultra Satin Lip: I thought this was more of a blue when looking on colourpop’s website, it does sometimes look blue in different lighting and on some people I see it looks blue blue. I wanted to get this one because Jellies is a bit drying and flaky, and I wanted a nice royal blue.
Colourpop Privacy Please Ultra Matte lip: This color on me looks like a purplely deep pink. It stains the lips hot pink..
Colourpop Molly Ultra Satin Lip: This one is very similar to Privacy Please but in a Satin form. Only difference is the satin liquid lipsticks do wear very comfortable and also stains the lips.
Colourpop Cheap Thrills Ultra Matte: Has a purple undertone mauvey color. Doesn’t do anything for my complexion. I will try to wear this out one day. 🙂

By the time I try all liquid lipstick brands out there I’ll be bankrupted sleeping in a shopping cart full of lipsticks. 😅
Continuing my obession, these are the newest additions to my hoard-llection. I noticed this brand on instagram and I love their branding. It looks expensive and made of quality. On their website jouercosmetics, most of all their liquid lipsticks are sold out. I was able to find some colors available on birchbox.com
These liquid lipsticks feel almost like nothing on my lips, dries to a nice matte finish, and smells like freshly baked cupcakes with frosting on top! The colors I chose were all in the cool pink tones, I think it would be perfect for my bridal makeup kit.
