Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick Swatches & Review
I am a big fan of indie brands for liquid lipsticks because of their range of color choices and price point, but being a gullible and makeup addict I am I went and bought some of SmashBox’s new Always On Matte Liquid Lipsticks. I’ve been seeing youtube videos and pictures on instagram with decent reviews, so that lured me into a little splurge. The colors I wanted to were Stepping Out, Chill Zone, Girl Gang, and Miss Conduct. Stepping Out a nudie brown color was sold out on smashbox.com and sephora.com; and I decided not to get Chill Zone because $24 for a fun color is not worth wearing it a couple of times. The best part of getting these liquid lipsticks was Sephora sent me an email that if I spend $50 I get this little cute set of YSL mini set of lipstick, liner and gloss! I was sold because I have heard people rave about their lipsticks. Along with my order I redeemed 500 VIB pts for a Laura Mercier set which included the translucent powder, foundation primer, matte radiance baked powder, rose nourishing oil, and last but not least a lip gloss. One last thing I did was subscribe to Sephora’s $10 a year for 2day shipping, that is an awesome deal! My ordered arrived 2 business days later, gotta love fast shipping.

Colourpop Metallics Liquid Lipstick Review & Kylie Metals Comparison
Metallic Metallic on my lip who is the mirrortastic of them all, you are Colourpop, YOU!
Yet again, I fall into the need to buy every Colourpop’s new releases (which is almost every week). When there is a launch drought which is no longer than a week, I have the habit of just perusing theit online store..then buy… buy, buy, buy!
Ok, this time I ordered Colourpop’s Ultra Metallic Liquid lipsticks ($6 – all 4 colors in Zebra, Man Eater, 3-Way, and Kween) out of curiosity to see how they compare to Kylie’s Metal Matte Liquid Lipsticks ($18 + $8.95 s&H in US) I am sincerely pleasantly surprised at how pigmented and metallic they are! IMO way better than Kylie’s and for such a good price. (See video at the bottom for lip swatches of all colors)
Colourpop Ultra Metallic Liquid Lipstick – 3 Way: My favorite of them all, it’s a pretty plum gold with pinkish undertones.

I Love how pigmented these are, they are super comfortable that I forget I am wearing it. It works great as a matte liquid lipstick topper or as a lip highlighter. The colors are beautiful. I think I will need to get some backups in there next restock (#2 restock) They did say they were limited, yet already had a restock and planning on the 2nd restock. - Compared to Kylie’s metals’ Heir was my least favorite because it was streaky, sheer, and didn’t show up well. I think colourpop’s version is a better kylie formulation but not top notch. As for dupes I think Colourpop Zebra is a good dupe for Reign, and Man Eater is siblings to King K. Ofra Cosmetics Beverly Hills Highlighter Swatches & Review
This highlighter has been popping up all over Instagram and snapchat for the past few weeks. I first saw swatches on Ofra’s snapchat (ofracosmetics). They swatched so beautifully bright and pigmented. Then I saw it on Nikkie tutorial’s snapchat and then some other instagrammer’s video posts on the explore page. I buy too much makeup especially liquid lipsticks and when it comes to makeup for my kit ( always looking for the latest and the greatest cosmetics and tools) so I tried to forgetta about it.. Then one lovely morning I got a notification of Ofra hosting a Persicope giveaway to win the Beverly Hills Highlighter..so I thought I’d give it a try, thinking I had a good chance because they were giving away 3. I typed too slow, and there were hyper huge fans of Ofra who type as fast as the speed of light and knew all the questions. So being the “poor” loser (pun intended) and makeup junkie I am, I went right to their website after their scope and bought the little b. hills highlighter.
Purchasing from Ofra is always easy and shipping time is always decent. Just not a fan of shipping and handling of course, but their 30% coupons from influencers always makes that shipping cost pain-in-the-wallet-could-of-bought-other-makeup-thinking a little easier to bare.
There are a total of 5 highlighters that work for a range of different skin tones. (see below for video swatch)
- Golden bronze highlighter: I would use this on deeper skin tones or as a eye shadow
- Champagne highlighter: this one is pretty for my skin tone
- Rose gold highlighter: also pretty for my skin tone
- White highlighter: will make your skin look like an ice queen
- Peachy pink highlighter: doesn’t really highlight, seems like a matte eye shadow with sparkles and not as pigmented as the others.

Pigmentation: Good pigmentation but swirling it with my brush gets the whole pan super powdery.
Highlight intensity: 8.5/10
Long-wear: Having a good base to stick it on is good, it is easily wiped off when I wanted to tone it down.

Notes: Ofra showed that you can swirl them all together for a nice color, but when I do that lots of fall out from using my morphe brush M510. I think the pigment is not packed in the pan tight enough. I dropped it on the floor and it did crack off some of the color (see picture below). I wouldn’t repurchase because I could buy the Anatasia Beverly Hills glow kit for close to the same price but with bigger pans of product. Ofra packaging seems pretty filmsy, and I am not a fan of the logo design.

Beauty Bakerie Swatches & Reviews
So many brands to try and so little money… I purchased these beauty bakerie lip whips which are their liquid lipsticks, a while ago and as you know I always hear of new liquid lipstick brands from the evil money eater “Instagram”. Their cute brand revolving around a bakery appealed to me. I am a bit of a snob when it comes to branding, logos, and packaging (graphic design major here & current makeup artist) because I feel if they did not spend enough time and money on their branding then would they use quality ingredients in their products. Before deciding to drop the dough ($20 a tube), I did my swatch research on instagram and watched reviews on youtube. Many youtubers, rub their fingers on their lips and nothing comes off. On instagram they have video of running the lip whips under water and rubbing it again. The staying power looked crazy, and I wanted to try.
Beauty Bakerie Fortune Cookie: I love this beige nude color, I’ve gotten 1 compliment for this color. Easy to apply with 1 application
Beauty Bakerie Cranberry Stiletto: Wore this out at night, had drinks and food and stayed put. AÂ nice deep red needs work to apply evenly about 2 coats.
Beauty Bakerie Raspberry Tiramisu: Deep berry wine color, need to apply 2-3 coats to get it even with no streaks. The thicker the more heavy feeling, and lips crinkle after eating and talking.
Beauty Bakerie Versailles: Mauve Pink nude color. Applies evenly with 1 application.

- Long Lasting: Super long lasting, as it feels like nail polish for the lips
- Non-Drying: Feels like I have something on my lips
- Non-Peeling: No peeling except for Raspberry Tiramisu lipwhip:Â After eating and talking you smile it can separate a little between the lines for the darker colors and peel in the inner parts of the mouth.
- Color Choices: They have some fun colors and nice nudes
- Non-Staining: Doesn’t stain, takes some time to remove. Only raspberry tiramisu stains a little.
- Scent: There is no scent
- Applicator: Â Regular doe-foot
- Consistency: Liquidy kinda like milk

- Packaging:Â Cute packaging love the design. The lip whips came in a nice cardboard box with their branding (I use the box to put liquid lipsticks in) and a cute little popsicle card.
- Notes: Â It’s probably the most uncomfortable liquid lipstick from my collection, especially with the darker colors. Applying a lipbalm, primer, and liner all over the lip before helps. It dries completely but when you put your lips together it has a slight tackiness. As you can see in the swatch pictures it also has as slight sheen. My favorite colors are Fortune Cookie and Raspberry Tiramisu. There is nothing like this formula that I own. (list of liquid lipsticks coming soon)

Makeup Geek Cosmetics Marlena plans to launch her “lip stains” in November. It looks like liquid lipsticks in her snap, and has shown 2 colors she has been constantly wearing on her lips. It took her 2years to develop them.

Lipland Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick Review & Swatches
The very first time I heard of Lipland liquid lipsticks was on Instagram. Amrezy did a collaboration and launched 3 colors with them; Rezy, Montenegro, and Brooklyn (bright coral) late last year. It was the early start of my obsession with liquid lipsticks, and so I ordered Rezy and Montenegro in the search for the perfect long-wear, non-drying, liquid lipstick. Then just few months ago Lipland launched more liquid lipsticks in their permanent line of colors, and then I ordered Aventus and Fifty-Fifty in their 2nd restock. All the new colors were so pretty I wanted them all but took some self-control.  I then was able to attend PhameXpo and got Empire and Temple for only $10! I’ll always jump on a good dealio.

Lipland Liquid Lipstick Review

Lipland Aventus Review: is a nice shade of brown just slightly darker than Empire.
Lipland Empire Review: is darker shade of brown, than Aventus. I think both Aventus and Empire can be in the Kylie’s Dolce K brown family.
Lipland Rezy Review: is a pretty pinky peachy nude.
Lipland Fifty-Fifty Review: a pinkish mauve nude.
Lipland Montenegro Review: need a few layers to get the deepness of the color to pop. It is more bolder in person, and I do get compliments and people asking where I got it. I think a really good close dupe is Stila Chianti and maybe Colourpop Rooch.
Lipland Temple Review: is similar to Fifty-Fifty but 2 1/2 times darker.

Refreshing Watermelon Swatch for those Hot Summer Days. Colourpop & Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks
It’s been hot these past few days in Southern California, with high temperatures surpassing 100f . Made me think of how I enjoy eating watermelons during summer months it’s so refreshing and sweet! So I decided to swatch up some liquid lipsticks in a watermelon painting.
The liquid lipsticks to create the watermelon swatch were from Colourpop Cosmetics and Jeffree Star Cosmetics. Colourpop Creeper is such a pretty vibrant matte red, mixed with a little Colourpop Vice liquid lipstick to get the pink edges. Colourpop’s Dr. M is the only green but made a nice contrast against the red. Jeffree’s Star Weirdo in black is such the perfect bold black, I loved how the seeds turned out. It was my favorite part plus the bite marks.
